Choosing the wrong chain can cost you the funds. This asks four questions in the correct order — and the first is always "what does the recipient accept", never "which is cheapest". Question one starts on "not confirmed yet" on purpose: until you change it, this tool will not name a chain.

Why "what does the recipient accept" has to come first
Because it is a hard constraint and everything else is optimisation. A few dollars of fee difference is a money question; the wrong chain is a do-you-still-have-it question. Plenty of people run the order backwards — pick the cheapest chain, send, discover the recipient does not accept it, and start a recovery process.
Which is why question one defaults to "not confirmed yet" rather than "all three". This is a deliberate trade-off on our part: pre-selecting the most common answer would make the tool feel smoother, but it would also assume, on your behalf, the one thing in this whole process that should never be assumed. Leave it on "not confirmed" and the tool names no chain — not because it cannot compute one, but because any answer at that point is a bet placed with your money.
Some chains use visually similar address formats, so judging by eye is dangerous. Only choose "all three" if you have actually seen all three listed on their page, rather than concluding it should probably be fine.
What each chain suits
- TRC20 (Tron) — low fee, fast confirmation, accepted almost everywhere. The default for plain transfers.
- ERC20 (Ethereum) — the most expensive and the most variable, with the deepest ecosystem. Worth the price only when you are going to do something on Ethereum.
- BEP20 (BNB Chain) — low cost, fast, suited to working inside that ecosystem. Less universally accepted than the other two.
Why choosing "on-chain application" triggers another question
Because an on-chain application only recognises your assets on its own chain. Which chain that is, is a fact rather than something to reason out from general knowledge: one application name can have an Ethereum version, a BNB Chain version and others. Fund the wrong one and your assets sit perfectly safely on-chain while the interface shows nothing.
An earlier version of this tool recommended ERC20 here, on the grounds that Ethereum has the most complete ecosystem. That is a true statement about the ecosystem being used as advice about one specific transfer, which is guessing. It now asks instead, and gives nothing if you cannot answer — one extra click in exchange for one fewer wrong guess.
Why the amount affects the choice
On a small transfer the fee can be a large enough share of the principal that the withdrawal is not worth making — favour a cheap chain, or accumulate and withdraw once. On a large one, a few dollars of difference stops mattering and breadth of support and your own familiarity are worth more.
Why it asks whether this is the first time
Because the first transfer to a new address should be a small test amount, confirmed as arrived, before the rest follows. You pay one extra fee to avoid losing the whole amount. It sounds fussy right up until it has happened to you once.
One question this does not ask, which matters just as much
Some assets require a memo or tag alongside the address. Omit it and the funds reach the platform's pooled address without being attributable to anyone, and recovering them is a support ticket. Fill in every field the deposit page shows, rather than deciding for yourself which are necessary.

This page connects to nothing, looks up no live fees, and contains no rate data. It applies the rules above to what you selected. Where the inputs are not sufficient to decide, it outputs "go and confirm" rather than a fabricated answer. All of it happens in your browser.
